COMPOSER – Georges Sadeler – Saxophone / Composition

In young years, Georges Sadeler's interest in composing and arranging was aroused by his father and later by his two teachers Marco Pütz and Claude Lenners, both teachers at the Conservatory of Music of Luxembourg. After his studies of harmony, counterpoint, fugue and orchestration he finally continues with composition.

He composes for a wide range of ensembles, from small chamber groups and wind orchestras to full symphony orchestras. He likes to emerge the worlds of both contemporary and classical music, exploring their vast possibilities to create new sound colors.

In 2017 he won the First Prize of the 4th International Composition Competition “Artistes en Herbe” Luxembourg 2017 in the “Senior” category and in 2021 the First Prize of the 6th International Composition Competition for Marches "Citta di Allumiere" in category "Concert March" and the First Prize of the 1st International Contest of Original Compositions for Youth Bands "Piccolo è bello" in category "Grade 0,5". Then in 2022 he won the First Prize of the 3rd Composition Competition for Youth Bands (Trento) in category B "Grade 2" and the First Prize of the International Contest of Composition for Band "Hymn of Valcamonica" in Breno.
A significant milestone in his career was reached in 2023, when he was commissioned to compose the opening piece for the official ceremony of Luxembourg’s National Day — a work written for large symphony orchestra, choir, and children’s choir. Later in 2023 he won the First Prize of the 5th International Competition for Band Composition "Angelo Inglese" in category B (symphonic march) and in 2024 the First Prize of the 3rd Winds Composition Contest Saxony in Germany.
In 2025, he released his debut album OUTBURST in collaboration with his publisher Symphonic Dimensions Publishing. The album features performances by the Luxembourg Military Band and the Militärmusik Niederösterreich. In October 2025, Georges Sadeler had the honor to win the First Prize of the Concours "Marche Grand-Duc Guillaume", held on the occasion of the Luxembourgish throne transition, with his work being officially dedicated to the new Grand Duke.

Since then, his works are played throughout Europe and are published by Symphonic Dimensions Publishing, Scomegna Music, Sonolize, Edizioni Eufonia, BlueOrange Music, Editions IMD and Axent.
